One of the most cosmopolitian courts, powerful prosperous kingdom in history of Southeast Asia is today one of the most remote and under-developed of the country. Rakhine (formerly Arakan) state is coastal strip formed, fromerly capital Mrauk-U is founded in 1430 by king Narameikhla. His exile from Burmese enemies spent part of his life in the Bengali city of Gaur, when his return Bengali high culture effected to build his own Land. Peak point of his empire in the mid 16th century, enlarge the territory all the way from Dhaka to the mouth of Ayeyarwady. Magnificiant of Mrauk-U’s temples, palaces and libraries was remarkable and famous across Asia. After losing Chittagong to the Mughals and continue a bloody civil war, and then Burmese army of King Bodawpaya occupied and from which 1784 Mrauk-U never recover.Today, the ruins of Narameikhla’s great city stand smothered in creepers and weeds, its brickwork crumbling into the fields and forests, priceless Buddhas peering from the undergrowth.”

Day 1

After breakfast, depend on flight time, transfer to airport and fly to Sittwe. Upon arrival at Sittwe airport by flight, warmly welcome by our tour guide and transfer to Jetty to take an impressive boat trip by boat (72 Km) about 5-6 hours journey upriver to the last royal capital of Rakhine Kingdom, Mrauk-U. As per request, lunch on boat with river life and amazing sunset from Boat. Upon arrival at Mrauk-U, transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Mrauk-U.

After breakfast at the hotel, morning visit Mrauk-U local market to see ways of life and proceed to Sek Kya Manaung pagoda, Pesi pagoda with 5 stone Buddha images on the hillock, then the 16th century temple of Koethaung temple known as 90000 Buddha images temple, Leksekan Lake with city gate, drinking water supplying lake for dwellers and Sandamuni Bronze Casting Buddha Image & monastery. Then Lunch break time at local restaurant. After Lunch walk through the maze like the Shithaung temple, known as 80000 Buddha images enshrined, built in 1535 with sand stone, looks like fortress with interior tunnel and stone carving relief, the adjacent Andaw Thein temple and Longbempyak, Pitakataik. Then proceed to Htukan Thein Temple. Enjoy the sunset from the Haritaung pagoda where one can see the very wonderful overview looking around Mrauk-U. Dinner and overnight in Mrauk-U.

Day 3

Early morning transfer to jetty and board on your boat to return back to Sittwe. Upon arrival in Sittwe, about city tour about one hour strolling along the strand road to see variety of rice stores, fish market to see many different fishes which are caught from Bay of Bengal and transfer to Sittwe domestic airport for the flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival Yangon, pick up from airport and transfer to hotel for check-in. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.
